Group Classes

Puppy Class

No Prerequisites

Puppy education and techniques include:

Socializing with both puppies and other people
Exposure to a variety of different textures and items
Desensitizing and Confidence Building
Introduction to all the basic obedience commands
Information and early signs to watch for and how to stop behavioral issues like resource guarding, leash reactivity, chewing and digging, excessive whining, and barking.
Potty training tips
Assistance with any puppy specific issues

6 weeks/1 session per week- $300

Basic Prep Class

(20 weeks to 8 months)
Prerequisite: Puppy Class or Free Training Consultation

Calling all adolescent pups that aren’t quite ready for Basic Obedience but need work on manners around the house and on the leash!

This 4 week course will get you and your pup communicating clearly through what can be the most trying period of their training life and includes structured socialization in each class.

Graduates can expect to have skills to address any unwanted behaviors in and out of the house, and be proficient at loose leash walking.

6 weeks/1 session per week – $300

Basic Obedience Class

(8 months or older)
Prerequisite: Free Training Consultation

Focuses on teaching all the basic commands as well as educating on a variety of common behavior issues. If you are NOT enjoying walks with your dog… THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!

Heel and how to handle dogs that pull or lag behind on walks
Sit including Automatic sits
Stay work on duration as well as distractions
Down
Come including long line recall with a variety of distractions
Settle and Place
Threshold work to stop dogs from bolting outdoors
Also addresses behaviors like: jumping, digging, nuisance barking, chewing and off

6 weeks/1 session per week or 3 weeks/2 sessions per week- $300

Intermediate Obedience Class

(9 months and older)
Prerequisite: Basic Obedience, attended 5 or more private training sessions, or participated in a 2 week In Board Training program.

Reviewing and building upon all basic commands.

Perfecting the Heel
Stand/Stay or Stand for exam
Sit from a distance
Down from a distance
Stay while the owner leaves the room for up to 3 minutes
Recall, recalling from food/overcoming issues with recall
Off-leash exercises
The proper way to greet other people with dogs
Address any behavior problems

6 weeks/1 session per week or 3 weeks/2 sessions per week- $300

Top Dogs on the Town Advanced Obedience Class

(12 months and older)
Prerequisite: Basic Obedience, attended 5 or more private training sessions, or participated in a 2 week In Board Training program.

Looking to up your Obedience Training game for you and your pup! It’s time to take our training out on the TOWN!
Each week this Advanced Obedience Class will display and perfect skills at different locations around town.
1st class will be at the Under the Sun facility, subsequent class schedule will be provided at the first class.

This class will focus on all skills learned in previous obedience classes and improve and refine these skills in different environments with various distractions.

6 weeks/1 session per week- $300

All Around Outdoor Dog

(6 months and older)
Prerequisite: Basic Obedience or Private Training Lessons

Do you love the Colorado outdoors? Do you love to fish, hike, camp, and explore? There is no better way to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer than with your dog at your side.

Under the Sun All Around Outdoor Dog Class offers a variety of training techniques for you and your dog to use while exploring and enjoying outdoor activities using effective communication and training commands. This class advances obedience training and focuses on off-leash, recall, distance and perimeter training using a remote dog training system (e-collar). This class covers the functionality of the e-collar and walks you through how to correctly introduce an e-collar to your dog and work to achieve off- leash reliability in conjunction with traditional training methods .

6 weeks/1 session per week- $300

Mastering Reactivity

(6 months and older)
Prerequisite: Free Training Consultation or Previous UTS Class or Lesson

Does your dog exhibit behaviors such as barking, growling, or lunging at other dogs during walks or tend to pull or pursue bicycles or runners? If your dog is experiencing challenges related to aggression or uncertain reactivity this class is designed specifically for you. By understanding reactivity and where it comes from, managing reactivity is possible with patient, consistent training in a safe environment.

Single Session Class: $50.00 per class session

Drop In Obedience/Behavior Upkeep and Obedience Skills/Drills

(8 months and older)

Prerequisite: Obedience Group Classes, Private Lessons, 1-2 weeks In Board Training

These sessions are group classes designed to maintain basic obedience commands and improve upon them, in addition to working on common behaviors like pulling, barking, and jumping.

These sessions are available on various dates and times and are scheduled individually by session.

Drop In Class: $20.00 per class session

Drop In Relaxed Walking

(over 6 months)
Prerequisite: Free Training Consultation

This drop in class works on perfecting the “heel” in loose leash heeling to provide a relaxed and enjoyable walk for you and your dog. The majority of this class will be outside with sidewalk and trail walking and dealing with common distractions (weather permitting).

This is not a basic obedience class.

Drop In Class: $20.00 per class session

Private Training

Day Train-Obedience

Add on a Basic Obedience Training 30 minute Session to a day at our Doggie Daycare! Trainers will work with your pup during a day at daycare.

This includes 30 minutes with trainer/dog and option to add 30 minute training transfer session with dog, trainer, and you.

$45.00 per lesson added to daycare service fee.

Private Sessions

Looking for 1-on-1 individualized training for you and your dog?

Under the Sun offers 30-minute and one-hour Private Obedience Training Sessions with one of our experienced trainers. Private lessons are customized to your dog and focus on behaviors identified in the Consultation.
These lessons are on-site at our facility.

1 hour: $125
30 minute: $75.00
Additional Dog: $25.00

Board and Train

Add a Basic Obedience Training 30-minute or 1 hour session to your dog’s boarding stay at Sunrise or Woodmen Kennels! Trainers will work with your pup while you are away!

1 hour: $125.00

30 minute: $75.00

Add a private lesson for you and your pup when you return!

In Board Training

We offer a 1, 2, and 3-week In-Board Training program (IBT) customized to fit the needs of you and your dog.

Your pup will board at Sunrise or Woodmen Kennels and work in individual training sessions with our expert trainers on a list of behavior or obedience items determined during the consultation.

Free Training Consultation is required for all IBT programs

Threshold (wait politely at doorways and gates).
Place (lie on a dog bed, blanket, etc., until released).
Leave it and Off.
2 weeks of boarding at Sunrise/Woodmen Kennels.
(1) 60-minute Go Home Session & (1) 60-minute Follow-Up Session in the facility.

Off Leash & Trail Walking- 2 weeks

Review of Basic Obedience.

Off-leash recall.
2 weeks of boarding at Sunrise/Woodmen Kennels.
(1) 60-minute Go Home Session & (1) 60-minute Follow Up Session in the facilty.
Remote training collar included.

Behavior Focused- 1-3 weeks

Our experienced trainers will work on a 3-5 behavior wish list.

Includes:

(1, 2, or 3) weeks of boarding at Sunrise/Woodmen Kennels
(1) 60-minute Go Home Session included in 1, 2, and 3 week.
(1) 60-minute Follow Up Session in facilty included in 2 week.
(2) 60-minute Follow Up Sessions in facilty included in 3 week.
