About Us

Under the Sun Training and Doggie Daycare was established by Colton and Heather in 2011. 

This husband and wife team combined their love and abundant knowledge of care, training, and dog behaviors to create an “in home” daycare atmosphere and a dynamic training system in the Colorado Springs Community. 

Colton and Heather and their Pup-friendly staff create a “home away from home” by providing quality care, exercise, and training to your furry family!


Our New Facility, opened December 2021!

Our dream of building a premier dog training facility, daycare, and events center has now become a reality!

Our NEW 21,000 square foot building includes a 12,000 square foot turfed training/events arena, Indoor/Outdoor Daycare Play Yards, Training/Flex rooms, and a Mezzanine looking over the arena!

We are so excited to be EXPANDING the Under the Sun dynamic training philosophies and years of experience into new classes, competition, and dog training opportunities for this community!

Hi I'm Katie! I’m originally from Milwaukee, WI but moved to Colorado in 2018. I have always had a love for animals, volunteering at humane societies and rescues and now truly enjoy coming to work every day because it’s more than just a job to me! I am blessed with something I adore!

Hiya! I’m Lori and I am originally from Tampa, Florida but moved to the Springs in 2011. I have spent most of my life around dogs and have worked in Veterinary medicine, with many major medical rescues, and even did a pre-Covid gig with Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I have my own small business in addition to my time with UTS, and a side gig in pet photography. In my spare time, I am out walking with my husband John and our dog Paisley, cooking, trying new breweries, traveling the world, finding any and all sporting events and concerts. I’m so glad to meet all the dogs at UTS and the people who love them!
